History

The history of Égry is directly linked to the Royal Archives of the Kings of France and the history of the stronghold, fief castle, of the Château de La Motte d'Égry of the fief of La Motte d'Égry, also called Château d'Égry, located in the old Duchy of Nemours; these historical records are linked to the granting of the fief to Jean-François Le Vieux,"Seigneurs de La Motte d'Égry", traced in relation to the genealogy of the local lords of La Motte d'Égry and the local parish families registers of today Egry. The castle and parish burials also hold important traces of historical information.
