1910 Chilean presidential election

A presidential election was held in Chile in 1910, due to President Pedro Montt's death while in office on August 16 that year. His successor, Vice President Elías Fernández Albano, also died less than a month later. It was Emiliano Figueroa, the new Vice President, who called for new presidential elections. The political parties agreed on presenting a single candidate, as a symbol of unity in celebration of Chile's first centenary of independence.
