195th Infantry Regiment (United States)


The 195th Infantry Regiment is a regiment of the United States Army, New Hampshire Army National Guard. Today, it exists as a Regional Training Institute, and no longer takes part in maneuver operations.

History

The 195th Infantry Regiment was created in 1953, with the regimental coat of arms being approved on 30 October 1953. The regiment's origins come from artillery units that served on the Western Front of World War II. The regiment was redesignated as the 941st Armored Field Artillery Battalion on 7 February 1956. The 195th was reactivated on 20 June 1997, and was assigned to be the New Hampshire National Guard's RTI at Center Strafford. The unit currently provides these courses; Army Basic Instructor Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course, Officer Candidate School, and Unit Supply Specialist Course.
