1971 World Netball Championships


The 1971 World Netball Championships was the third edition of the World Netball Championships, the premier tournament in international netball, held every four years. The 1971 tournament was held in Kingston, Jamaica, and featured nine teams which included one team that was debuting at the tournament. The tournament actually began in 1970, on December 31, with England and New Zealand winning their opening matches on New Year's Eve.
After eight matches was played, Australia took out their second title after winning all eight of their matches with New Zealand finishing runners-up and England third.
