1973 French Open – Women's Singles


First-seeded Margaret Court defeated Chris Evert 6–7, 7–6, 6–4 in the final to win the Women's Singles tennis title at the 1973 French Open. It was Evert's first appearance at the French Open.
Reigning champion Billie-Jean King didn't defend her title. This tournament was notable for being the first Grand Slam appearance of future world No. 1 Martina Navratilova. She reached the quarterfinals.
