1977 World Snooker Championship


The 1977 World Snooker Championship was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 18 and 30 April 1977 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
John Spencer won in the final 25–21 against Cliff Thorburn. The event was sponsored by cigarette manufacturer Embassy. Spencer at aged 41 was the oldest Crucible champion until Ray Reardon won the 1978 Championship aged 45.
