1981 Tour

1981 Tour was the second tour of the English synthpop band Depeche Mode, which took place between July and December 1981.
The tour began at Crocs, Rayleigh in January 1981, a place where the band was really appreciated during its early years, and ended at Chichester, West Sussex. Most concerts during this year were not planned well in advance, but occurred as more and more opportunities for them arose. From 1981-10-31 until 1981-11-16, they went on a well-planned "Speak & Spell" tour across the UK to promote the eponymous album Speak & Spell, supported by Blancmange.
This was the first time the band left the UK for live performances, with one-off concerts in Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and France, in September. Their tour in 1981 is the last tour to include Vince Clarke who left the band in December 1981.
