2000 Washington gubernatorial election

The State of Washington holds its gubernatorial election every fourth year, concurrent with the United States presidential election. This election took place on November 7, 2000. Incumbent Democratic Governor Gary Locke won reelection to a second term.
As of, this is the most recent gubernatorial election in Washington in which the margin of victory was in double digits and the last gubernatorial election in Washington in which any counties in Eastern Washington voted for a Democrat. It is also the earliest Washington gubernatorial election in which both candidates are currently still living.
