2002 French Open – Men's Singles


won in his maiden Grand Slam final 6–1, 6–0, 4–6, 6–3, against compatriot Juan Carlos Ferrero to win the Men's Singles tennis title at the 2002 French Open. Gustavo Kuerten was the two-time defending champion, but lost in the fourth round to Costa.
Feliciano López began his record run of 72 consecutive Grand Slam main draw appearances at this tournament. The run has been ongoing through to the 2020 Australian Open.
