2011–12 Gateshead F.C. season
The 2011–12 season was Gateshead's third consecutive season in the Conference National and their 14th at this level in total.
Gateshead also fielded a reserve side in The Central League for the second consecutive season and a newly formed under-19s team played in the Football Conference Youth Alliance.

- 19 May 2011: Gateshead announce the signing of midfielder Micky Cummins following his release by Grimsby Town.
- 31 May 2011: Gateshead announce the signing of defender Sam Rents from Crawley Town.
- 7 June 2011: Gateshead announce the signing of defender Eddie Odhiambo and striker Yemi Odubade after their releases from Newport County and Stevenage respectively.
- 9 July 2011: Gateshead begin pre-season with a 0–1 defeat by Huddersfield Town at Gateshead International Stadium. Former Gateshead striker Lee Novak scoring the only goal of the game.
- 10 July 2011: Midfielder Ashley Winn joins Farnborough on a free transfer, after a successful trial.
- 16 July 2011: Gateshead's pre-season friendly at home to Carlisle United was abandoned after 58 minutes due to torrential rain with the score at 2–0 to Gateshead.
- 27 July 2011: Gateshead announce the signings of Chris Carruthers, Chris Moore, Ewan Moyes and Kyle Nix.
- 13 August 2011: Gateshead win their opening league game of the season 3–2 away at Kidderminster Harriers, with goals from Jon Shaw, Micky Cummins and Kris Gate.
- 16 August 2011: Gateshead top the league table after goals from Jon Shaw, Yemi Odubade and James Curtis secure a 3–0 home victory against Mansfield Town.
- 24 August 2011: Goalkeeper Paul Farman is named in the England C squad for their game against India U23s on 6 September, but the match was postponed the following day.
- 1 September 2011: Goalkeeper Paul Farman signs a contract extension until the end of the season, while striker Gary Mulligan signs a short-term deal until January.
- 2 September 2011: Striker Jon Shaw named Blue Square Bet Premier Player of the Month after scoring in all six league games during August.
- 8 September 2011: Gateshead announce the signing of goalkeeper Jak Alnwick on a one-month loan from Newcastle United.
- 3 October 2011: Midfielder Josh Gillies signs a contract extension until the end of the year.
- 6 October 2011: Gateshead announce the signing of defender Jeff Henderson on a one-month loan from Newcastle United, while midfielder James Marwood joins F.C. Halifax Town on loan. Gateshead also announce that Jak Alnwick's loan deal has been extended by a further two weeks.
- 21 October 2011: Gateshead announce that Jak Alnwick's loan deal has been extended until the end of the year.
- 21 October 2011: Goalkeeper Paul Farman joins Lincoln City on loan for the rest of the year.
- 8 November 2011: Defender Jeff Henderson's loan deal is extended until 7 December.
- 12 November 2011: Gateshead reach the second round of the FA Cup for the first time in 11 years after beating Blyth Spartans 2–0 at Croft Park.
- 15 November 2011: Midfielder Rob Briggs joins Blyth Spartans on a one-month loan.
- 20 December 2011: Gateshead announce that defender Ewan Moyes, midfielder Kyle Nix and striker Gary Mulligan are to be released after their contracts would not be renewed on 1 January 2012. Nix's contract was later revealed to expire on 24 January.
- 31 December 2011: Midfielders Josh Gillies and Chris Moore have their contracts extended until the end of the season.
- 6 January 2012: Gateshead announce the signing of goalkeeper Ben Wilson on a one-month loan from Sunderland.
- 7 January 2012: Defender Craig Baxter made his 250th appearance for Gateshead and was named man of the match in the 2–0 win at home to Stockport County.
- 13 January 2012: Gateshead announce the signings of Jamie Chandler and Liam Hatch from Darlington for a nominal fee.
- 20 January 2012: Gateshead announce the signing of striker Phil Airey from Newcastle United on a one-month loan.
- 27 January 2012: Gateshead announce the signing of defender Carl Magnay after his release from Chelsea.
- 9 February 2012: Gateshead announce the signing of winger Alan O'Brien after his release from Yeovil Town.
- 17 February 2012: Midfielder Rob Briggs joins Sunderland RCA on a 28-day loan.
- 5 March 2012: Gateshead announce the signing of defender Paul Dummett on a one-month loan from Newcastle United.
- 4 April 2012: Paul Dummett's loan is extended until the end of the season.
- 30 April 2012: Gateshead announce they have released eleven players, including former captain Kris Gate and long serving right-back Craig Baxter, and offered new contracts to twelve players.
- 2 May 2012: Manager Ian Bogie and assistant Terry Mitchell have their contracts extended until the end of the 2012–13 season.
- 2 May 2012: Gateshead's under-19s side win the Football Conference Youth Alliance North Division after a 2–0 win against MMU Newcastle.
- 29 May 2012: Top scorer Jon Shaw leaves the club after rejecting a new contract, the only player of the 12 offered new contracts to do so.
