Novak Djokovic won the title, defeating Rafael Nadal 4–6, 6–3, 7–6 in the final for the second week in a row after also beating him in the Indian Wells final the previous week. Djokovic's unbeaten streak since the start of the 2011 season, after his triumph here in Miami, tallied up to 24 match wins. Since the Davis Cup final last year, he rode an overall 26 match winning streak.
