2012 Jacksonville Jaguars season 2012 Jacksonville Jaguars season was the franchise's 18th season in the National Football League . It was the first under the new ownership of Shahid Khan and the first season for head coach Mike Mularkey . The Jaguars entered the season hoping to improve on their 5–11 record from 2011 and return to the playoffs for the first time since 2007 , but did not and were eliminated from postseason contention. This season marked the third time in the last five seasons in which the Jaguars finished fourth in the AFC South . The Jaguars finished with a 2–14 record, not only tying the Kansas City Chiefs for the leagues worst record of 2012, but it was also the worst in franchise history.
