2014 Historic Grand Prix of Monaco

The 2014 Historic Grand Prix of Monaco was a motor racing event featuring Formula 1 and Grand Prix motor racing cars from the early days of racing through to the mid 1970s. The event, which contained seven races of various categories, was run for the ninth time since its inception in 1997.
The event was held on the modern-day layout of the Circuit de Monaco which has been used in Formula 1 since 2003.

Category A

The category A race took place between pre-war Grand Prix cars and Voiturette cars of the same period. Notable among these was the 1934 Alfa Romeo Tipo B which took seventeen race victories in 1934, including that of the Monaco Grand Prix. Qualifying for the race was held on 9 and 10 May with the race on Sunday 11th.
Pole position was taken by Paddins Dowling's ERA followed by the Alfa of Matthew Grist. Following a to-and-fro race in which the top two spots changed hands several times, Grist ended up taking the win with Dowling close behind.
