51st Combat Communications Squadron

The 51st Combat Communications Squadron is located at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. It is currently under the command of the 5th Combat Communications Group, whose mission is to train, deploy, and deliver communications for dominant combat operations. The 51st CBCS and 5th CCG report to the 688th Cyberspace Wing, which is currently under the 16th Air Force.
"Always first" is the 51st Combat Communications Sq motto for good reason. Though Operation Iraqi Freedom officially began on March 19, 2003, the 51st CBCS had been in Iraq for months creating an intricate communications network from scratch. The network provided tactical communications, navigational aids and air traffic control services supporting some U.S. combat operations.

The 51st CBCS is the primary expeditionary communications provider for the 9th Air Force/Joint Task Force HQ.
