A1023 road
The A1023 is an A-road in Essex, England. The road was originally a Roman road which linked London and Colchester.
The road is approximately long and at its western end is an exit from the Brook Street Roundabout.
From there, heading northeast, the road runs through Brentwood as Brook Street, London Road, High Street and Shenfield Road. It then passes by Shenfield as Chelmsford Road before ending at the Mountnessing Roundabout.
At the eastern end of Brentwood High Street, the A1023 becomes Shenfield Road at the Wilsons Corner double-roundabout junction. A turn-off at this junction takes motorists onto the A128, northbound towards Chipping Ongar or southbound toward Ingrave. Continuing northeast on the A1023, the road meets Tabors Corner, a T-junction where motorists can turn onto the A129 towards Shenfield and Billericay.
