A. Jayashankar


Adv. Jayashankar is a lawyer and a political critic from Kerala, India. He is famous for his deep knowledge, sharp memory and sarcastic way of criticism. His articles were published in the daily newspaper Madhyamam under a pen name 'Rajeshwari'. He anchored a weekly TV program in a malayalam TV news channel Indiavision, titled 'Varanthyam'. He appears as a political analyst in various malayalam TV news channels.
Jayashankar authored two books. His book, 'Communistubharanavum Vimochanasamaravum' is based on First E. M. S. Namboodiripad ministry and its dismissal. Another of his book was 'Casting Manthrisabha', which points out the games and downfall of Second K. Karunakaran ministry, a short-lived coalition government which survived just 81 days in kerala with the help of casting vote. He was an executive member of the lawyer's association of Communist Party of India.
Jayasankar was born in 1962 to Paamadath Vasudevan Pillai and Kalarikkal Saudamini. He studied in Mar Athanasius High School, Nedumbassery, Union Christian College, Aluva, and Government Law College, Ernakulam. He obtained post-graduation in Law and History with top ranks. Working as a lawyer since 1989. Served as Government Pleader in the Kerala High Court from 1996 to 2000. At the age of 51, he married Dr. Jaya in February, 2014.
