Abu Bakr (name)
Abu Bakr was a sahabi, one of the companions of Muhammad and the first Caliph of Islam. He was also Muhammad's father-in-law through Aisha. His real name was Abdullah or Abul-Kaaba and Abu Bakr was his kunya.
The name, meaning "Father of young camel", is widely used by Sunni Muslims. Other transliterations include Abu Bakar, Abu Bekr, Ebubekir, Aboubacar, etc. The two parts of the name can be written together, hyphenated, or separately.
