Admiral William Brown

"Admiral William Brown" is a song, written and first performed in 1982, the year of the Falklands War between Argentina and the United Kingdom, by the Wolfe Tones. The song recounts the biography of Irish-Argentine naval hero William Brown and contains denunciations of imperialism, colonialism and the United Kingdom.
The song was popular in Ireland, reaching number four in the charts. In the United States, the song reached the top spot on WROL's "Irish Hit Parade". The Wolfe Tones performed it during the 1983 St. Patrick's Day celebrations in Pittsburgh.
