Akash Thosar

Akash Thosar is a film actor who appears in Bollywood, Marathi cinema and best known for his role as Parshya in Marathi film Sairat.

Career

Thosar was born and raised in a small village Jeur in Karmala in Solapur district, Maharashtra. A former wrestler, Thosar was spotted at a railway station in Solapur by Bharat Manjule, Sairat director Nagraj Manjule's brother, inviting Akash to audition for the lead role. Thosar later starred in the lead role in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi movie in 2017.
In the latest 2018 Netflix original “Lust Stories”, an anthology film, Thosar paired opposite Radhika Apte in the first story directed by Anurag Kashyap.

Akash Thosar won the best debut award at the 3rd Jio Filmfare Awards Marathi 2017 for his performance in Sairat.
