Akron Township is a township in Wilkin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 153 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of ; of it is land and of it is water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 153 people, 47 households, and 42 families residing in the township. The population density was 4.3 people per square mile. There were 53 housing units at an average density of 1.5/sq mi. The racial makeup of the township was 98.04% White, and 1.96% from two or more races.
There were 47 households, out of which 46.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 87.2% were married couples living together, 2.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 10.6% were non-families. 8.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.26 and the average family size was 3.48.
In the township the population was spread out, with 33.3% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 20.9% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.1% who were 65 years of age or older.
