Al Lenard
Al "Long" Lenard was a running back and kicker in the Ontario Rugby Football Union.
Lenard joined the Hamilton Tigers in 1940, but it was the next season, with the Hamilton Wildcats when he was a star, leading the league in scoring and winning the Imperial Oil Trophy as league MVP. He again led the league in scoring in 1942, being named an all-star. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy during the war, continuing to play football in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
After the war he played with both the Wildcats and Tigers in 1945, but was traded to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and eventually decided to go to university. As a Golden Gael at Queen's University he was two time all-star. He is a member of the Queen's University Football Hall of Fame.
