Alex Hernández (baseball)
Alexander Vargas Hernández is a retired Major League Baseball infielder and outfielder. He played during two seasons at the Major League level for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was drafted by the Pirates in the 4th round of the 1995 amateur draft. Hernández played his first professional season with their Rookie league Gulf Coast Pirates in, and his last season with independent Atlantic League's Lancaster Barnstormers in. He played his last affiliated season in for the Cincinnati Reds' Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts and Triple-A Louisville Bats.
