Alexander Freeman (filmmaker)


Alexander James Freeman, known by his stage name Alexander Freeman, is an American filmmaker, artist and entrepreneur with cerebral palsy. Freeman is also the founder of the social justice advocacy production company, Outcast Productions.

Documentary films

''The Last Taboo'' (2013)

Freeman directed The Last Taboo, a documentary about the sexual lives of people with disabilities, while at Emerson College. In an interview with WBUR, Freeman said "We might be in a chair, but everything still works. I’ve got a heart. I’ve got a mind, and I’ve got a body Everyone deserves to be touched."

''The Wounds We Cannot See'' (2017)

Freeman's documentary The Wounds We Cannot See, tells the story of former US Navy Airman Nancy Ross of Hingham, Massachusetts. Ross was violently raped during her service in 1988 and has since struggled with addiction, mental illness and depression.

''Indomitable'' (2022)

Freeman's documentary, Indomitable, is scheduled for release in 2022. The film, narrated by Chris Cooper and supported by Kevin Bright, follows a filmmaker with cerebral palsy. The documentary includes CJ Jones, Sharon Pierre-Louis and Jay Ruderman.
