Alexandru Crețu is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Slovenian club Maribor.Crețu came into prominence during the 2012–13 season after his good performances as a central defender with Politehnica Iaşi.In December 2016, Crețu signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Slovenian side Olimpija Ljubljana.Maribor
