Alfonso Moretti


Alfonso Moretti aka “The Angry Trainer” is an American born personal trainer and physical fitness expert with 27 years of experience. He was best known for his no holds barred take on health and fitness while operating Angry Trainer Fitness - a website dedicated to giving readers real world, practical information on health and fitness. In 2017 Moretti retired the Angry Trainer name and is now known as Trainer Alfonso. In November 2017, he and his wife Michelle opened MERGE, a 100% non impact small group personal training gym in West Hollywood California that features a dance club like atmosphere complete with laser lights and a disco ball.

Early life

According to his Discovery Fit and Health profile, Moretti was born in Mt. Vernon, New York and raised in suburban Westchester County, NY
in a middle-class family. He grew up watching his father workout with free weights, and started lifting weights at the age of 13. By 18, he was a certified personal trainer and later, competed in natural bodybuilding for 10 years.

Media

Alfonso was a contestant on the Fox reality show Boot Camp in 2001, finishing third in the competition. He has also appeared in a pilot for NBC and MTV's Silent Library.
Alfonso is a Fitness Advisory Board member of FitStudio, a free online fitness and health community powered by Sears. In addition to his advisory duties, Moretti also creates content for the FitStudio blog and posts original workout programs.
Moretti also writes for the Discovery Fit & Health website with his own webpage called Boot Camp Body.
Alfonso is a contributor to many magazines, including Men’s Fitness.
