Allen Herbert
Allen Henry William Herbert was an English amateur cricketer. He played mainly for Marylebone Cricket Club, making eight of his 11 first-class cricket appearances for the club. He made one appearance each for Kent County Cricket Club, Middlesex County Cricket Club and the Gentlemen of the South side. Herbert played as a batsman in the 1870s. He scored one half-century in his career, in his first match for MCC against Surrey in 1872.
He was born at Dartford in Kent in 1852 and died in Belgravia in London in 1897 aged 44.
