Amir Hossain


Amir Hossain is a Bangladeshi judge of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh High Court Division. Currently he is a member of International Crimes Tribunal.

Early life and education

Justice Amir was born in 30 November, 1957 to Alhaj Abdus Samad and Alhaj Syedunnesa. He obtained Secondary School Certificate from Nikli GC Pilot High School in 1974, Higher Secondary School Certificate from Gurudayal Government College in 1976. He obtained his LLB and LLM degree from the Department of Law, University of Dhaka.

Career

Justice Hossain joined the Judiciary of Bangladesh as Munsif on 22 February, 1984 and was promoted as a District and Sessions Judge on 06 May, 2009. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, High Court Division on 12 February, 2015 and was appointed as a Permanent Judge of the same division on 12 February, 2017. On 11 October 2017, he was appointed as a member of the International Crimes Tribunal -1.
He participated in the International Conferences, Seminars and Study Session and visited Australia, Switzerland, China, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, India, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Austria, United Kingdom, Canada and the Netherlands.
