Andrés Soriano Jr.


Andrés Soriano Jr. was a Spanish Filipino businessman best known as the chief executive of San Miguel Corporation and A. Soriano Corporation from 1964 to 1984. He was a son of Andrés Soriano Sr.

Family

Soriano was born on May 3, 1926, to Andrés Soriano Sr. and Carmen Montemar. He was a great grandson of Pedro Pablo Róxas and Carmen Róxas de Ayala. Soriano was a third cousin of Enrique J. Zóbel and Jaime Zóbel de Ayala.
Soriano was married to Maria Natividad Loinaz. The couple had four children - Andrés III, Cristina, Eduardo and Carlos.

Death

Soriano died on March 19, 1984, at his home in Madrid, Spain. He was 58 years old.
The street in the Intramuros area of Manila formerly known as Calle Aduana was named “Andrés Soriano Jr. Avenue” in his honour.
