Andrew Hunt (politician)

Andrew Hunt is an American nanotechnology businessman who was the Libertarian Party of Georgia's candidate in the 2014 Georgia gubernatorial election. He is the grandson of H.L. Hunt and has a PhD from Georgia Tech. In August 2014, it was revealed that despite Hunt being a strong supporter of limited government, his own technology company received millions of dollars in research grants from the federal government. These grants "kept afloat and ultimately made it profitable," according to Nicholas Fouriezos of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In the 2014 race, Hunt received 2.4% of the vote.
