Appalachian State Mountaineers wrestling
The Appalachian State Mountaineers wrestling team represents Appalachian State University of Boone, North Carolina. The squad is coached by JohnMark Bentley. Bentley is assisted by Ryan LaBlanc,Randall Diabe. The Mountaineers are full members of the non-wrestling Sun Belt Conference, so the wrestling team is an Associate member of the Southern Conference.
The Mountaineers have won eight regular season SoCon titles and eight SoCon championship tournaments, the most recent for both being in 2018.
Notable former Mountaineer wrestlers include former Olympians, Al Crawford, Herb Singerman, Ike Anderson, and Dale Oliver. The school has had seven wrestlers earn nine All-American citations in the NCAA and seven wrestlers earn ten citations in the NAIA.
