Arafat Rahman


Arafat Rahman, nicknamed "Koko" alternative spelling "Coco" was the younger son of former President of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Khaleda Zia. Arafat was convicted in a money-laundering case by the Caretaker government of Bangladesh in 2007-2008.

Personal life

Rahman was married to Sharmila Rahman Sithi. They had two daughters – Zahia and Zaisa.
On 17 July 2008, after taking permission from Bangladesh Supreme Court, Rahman went to Thailand and then to Malaysia for medical treatment. He died of a cardiac arrest on 24 January 2015, at University Malaya Medical Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
