Ardian Bujupi


Ardian Bujupi is a Kosovar-born German singer and songwriter.
Ardian was born in Pristina, Kosovo. At a young age, his entire family moved to Germany and he has been living there ever since. He rose to significant prominence in the German-speaking Europe after he finished third in the eighth series of Deutschland sucht den Superstar.
Ardian is active in both German and Albanian music industries and is well known for his hits 'Andiamo' 'Na jena njo' and many more.

Life

Ardian Bujupi was born on 27 April 1991 into an Albanian family in the city of Pristina, then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, present Kosovo. His family left Kosovo for political reasons due to the persecution of Albanians initiated with the disintegration of Yugoslavia. They relocated to the city of Heidelberg whereas he received his primary and secondary education. Bujupi has two sisters and is fluent in German, English and Albanian.

Career

2011–2013: DSDS

Bujupi decided to enter the eighth series of the German music talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar and successfully passed the first phases of the show and made it to the live shows. He was in the bottom three times but was saved by the public in all occasions. Although he became a huge favorite to win the show, he finished third, behind Pietro Lombardi the season winner and Sarah Engels the season runner-up.
Just a few months after DSDS, Ardian released his first single "This is My Time", penned in English which became a huge hit on the radios and social networks, counting more than a million views over a week. He later released "Rise to the Top" and "I'm Feeling Good", all which had the same success as his first single.
He started touring immediately after releasing his first songs. He mostly toured in Germany and Switzerland, but later was invited to tour in Kosovo and Albania.

2014–present: Album

Bujupi was invited to perform in The X Factor Albania to promote his single. He later became very popular in the Albanian-speaking territories and released "Want U Now" also in Kosovo and Albania. The single was well received and was one of the most played summer songs. He toured around the Albanian-coast in summer.
In 2012, he attempted to represent Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden with "I çmendur për ty". This was Ardian's first song in Albanian. He performed first in the final and ended 11th.
