In the nineteenth century, Arifwala was only a village named as Chak No. 61/EB. Later, it was called Arifwala because of a Sufi Saint, "Arif Baba", who stayed in the village. His Mazar can be seen in the graveyard near the Railway Station. In 1908, the Deputy Governor "Hurbert" founded the new city of Arifwala. The most significant castes residing in the area are Kamboh, Awan, Baloch, Jatt, Syed, Rajpoot Rath, Hotiyana, Chishti, joiya, Mohla, Gujjar, Arain, Raja, Kharal, Rai, Rana, Sukhera, and Doggars. In 1987, Arifwala was raised to the status of sub-division and in 1995 it was attached to district Pakpattan. Qabula is also a famous place near Arifwala. Mohla Rajput, Rath, Hotiyana and Chisti Castes are pre-dominant in the historical town. Mostly they are "Zamindaars". It also gave rise to many high scaled "Government Officers". Chak 19/KB is located around 3 miles in east of famous Gola Chowk of Qabula. This village was inhabited by Mian Raheem Baksh Khan Rajpoot Mohla in 18th century. Later, the village was organised under the leadership of his elder son Mian Ahmad Yar Khan Rajpoot Mohla. He established a new system of morality in region and broke all the patriarchy of Feudalism. Mian Ahmad Yar Khan was a man of principles and remained role model for British and Pakistani bureaucracy all the times. After his death, His youngest son Mian Abdul Ghaffar Khan Mithu Mohla took her seat and continued the justice and management system of his father Chak 159 EB is around 5 miles from Arifwala, on Burewala road. A lot of development work was done based on significant efforts made by the former "Namberdar" Syed Abid Hussain Zaidi. He was the person who struggled to bring electricity in the village Chak 159 EB and built the First Electric Tube Well in the entire region in 1958. He has been able to get this Chak 159 EB recognized as "Model Village" in the early 1960s.
