History
The arrondissement of Reims was created in
1800
. In
2006
it
lost
the
canton
of
Ay
to the
arrondissement of Épernay
. At the
April 2017
reorganisation
of the arrondissements of
Marne
, it gained two communes from the
arrondissement of Châlons-en-Champagne
, and it lost one
commune
to the arrondissement of Châlons-en-Champagne and
13
communes to the arrondissement of
Épernay
.
As a result of the reorganisation of the
cantons of France
which came into
effect
in
2015
, the
borders
of the
cantons
are no
longer
