Arthur Latham

Arthur Charles Latham was a British Labour Party politician.
Latham was educated at Royal Liberty School in Romford, Essex, and the London School of Economics. He was elected Member of Parliament for Paddington North in a 1969 by-election, but after the February 1974 general election he became MP for Paddington. In 1979, he lost his seat to the Conservative John Wheeler by 106 votes.
After resuming being a London Borough of Havering councillor, Latham was Leader of the Council from 1990 to 1996. He was married to Ruby Margaret, who died in November 2000, and they had two children: a son, Howard Arthur, and a daughter, Diana Margaret. He later married Caroline Hurlstone.
