Aydoğan Vatandaş


Aydoğan Vatandaş is an investigative journalist from Turkey, specializing in Political Science and International Relations. He is the author of 13 books, many of which have become bestsellers in Turkey. 'Reporting from the Bridge' and 'Hungry for Power: Erdogan's Witch Hunt and The Abuse of State Power' are the first two books published in English in the U.S.
The book “Hungry for Power; Erdoğan's Witch Hunt and Abuse of State Power” serves as a collection of significant articles that shed light on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's transition from Muslim democrat to an authoritarian leader while also delving into complex issues like violence in the Middle East.
He is the founder and the Editor-in-Chief of Politurco.com, a new online platform which primarily focuses on Turkish politics, Middle East and Muslim world with a high commitment to standards of journalistic and academic ethics and integrity.

Life & work

Since 2006, he has been working in New York as the representative for Cihan News Agency and correspondent for Today's Zaman Daily where he wrote his dozens of articles on Turkish and The Middle East politics. He holds an M.A in Media Studies from The New School in NY.
While still in Turkey, he hosted a weekly TV discussion program titled "Black Box".
