Azerbaijani population


The Azerbaijani people are a Turkic ethnic group, whose origins are in the Caucasus and Middle East. The region of Iran generally Iranian Azerbaijan, Caucasus generally Azerbaijan, Borchali and Dagestan, Anatolia generally Iğdır and Kars. the original geographic region of the Azerbaijani people and the home to the majority of Azerbaijani today. This geo-cultural region means "Land of the Azerbaijanis". a space was carved out to develop Azerbaijani culture, Azerbaijani language, Azerbaijani art, Azerbaijani literature, Azerbaijani folklore, Azerbaijani music, Azerbaijani dances, Azerbaijani Traditional dress, Azerbaijani cuisine and Azerbaijani identity.

Iran

According to a report by Ethnologue, in 2013, out of the total population of 70,496,000 million people in Iran there were 15.5 million Azerbaijani living in Iran. New America Foundation has reported in 2009 that the Azerbaijani population in Iran is 21.6%. Azerbaijanis make up 25% of Tehran's population and 30.3% – 33% of the population of the Tehran Province. Azerbaijanis in Tehran live in all of the cities Tehran Province. They are the largest ethnic groups after Persians in Tehran and the Tehran Province. There are Iranian Azerbaijanis with Khorasani Turks living in Khorasan Province area, Some Azerbaijanis have emigrated and to Khorasan.

Republic of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijanis of Dagestan are Azerbaijani branch of the indigenous peoples of Dagestan Republic. Based on the latest census Russian Federation in 2010, 130,919 person Azeris live in Dagestan. which makes them the region's sixth largest ethnic group and 4.5% of its total population.

Borchali

Borchali is a region of Georgia largely populated by ethnic Azerbaijanis. Historical name of present day-Kvemo Kartli. In 2002, Kvemo Kartli province of Georgia had the following ethnic makeup of 497,530 total population, and 45.1% are Azerbaijanis.

Iğdır and Kars

Azerbaijani native in Turkey living in Iğdır and Kars Province from the Eastern Anatolia Region. By 1990, about 400,000 Azerbaijanis lived in a belt of land on the Turkish side of the Soviet border. They currently are the largest ethnic group in the city of Iğdır and second largest ethnic group in Kars Province.
