The University Medical Graduate Degree Course Programme Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yoga Science is a degree course programme in India in the field of Ministry of AYUSH, which covers the study of Naturopathy,. BNYS Degree Course Programme qualified persons who can be a Medical Officer with " A Class Medical Registration " can do Medical Practice as a General Physician and can do Primary Health Care Practice in Modern Medicine as well as Speciality in Naturopathy Medicine and can do Integrative Medicine Practice as both combined where ever is required. BNYS Medical Graduates can do PG subject speciality in MD, 3 year Course MD.,,MD., MD,MD.,. MPH MHA pg level and Post PGs Course too available in many Colleges and Health Science Universities in both private as well as government sectors as PG diploma duration is two years and PG degree duration is 3 years.
The curriculum is taught in English with additional language to it as Sanskrit too by several universities. The degree is of four-year and six-month +one year CRRI AS 365 days full-time internship CRRI DURATION as including 1-year internship, after passing 12th Science are eligible to pursue admission to this graduate course. The person having a BNYS naturopathy degree graduates can practice independently naturopathy. Naturopathy colleges are available in almost all states in India both in private as well as Government sectors.
BNYS graduates in most states in India are allowed to practice modern medicine because they study emergency medicine as one of the subjects. BNYS is recognised abroad for any form of modern medicine health provision. In India, the degree is recognised for naturopathic practice, a form of alternative medicine.
As per current laws, BNYS graduates are permitted for usage of prefix ‘Dr’, like graduates of MBBS, PhD, PharmD or other doctorate level degrees.
Current governing bodies are, National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune and Central council of Research in Yoga and Naturopathy, AYUSH Ministry,Government of India. The graduates are registered Naturopaths under the central registration offered by CCRYN as well as state AYUSH councils/boards.
