Bagata people
The Bagata are a designated Scheduled Tribe in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
The Bagata mainly speak the Bagata language, written in the Bagata script, but they also speak Telugu and Oriya. The latter is mostly in a dialect known as Adivasi Oriya.
The Bagata are primarily Hindus.
In 1976 the Bagata had the highest rate of indebtedness of any of the scheduled tribes of Andhra Pradesh.
