Bassem Amin


Bassem Amin is an Egyptian chess player. He was awarded the title Grandmaster by FIDE in 2006. Amin is the highest rated player of Egypt and Africa.

In 2005 he won the African championship and took part in World Youth Chess Championship, finishing third.

Personal life

Amin graduated from the faculty of Medicine of the Tanta University in 2012. He is one of three doctors who are also chess grandmasters.
