Battle of Staouéli
Battle of Staoueli, was a battle between the Kingdom of France and the Regency of Algiers in western Algiers while France was trying to take control over the capital.
The battle
French troops remained awaiting for siege material, which arrived slowly. During this time, the troops of the Regency were reinforcing, establishing themselves at the Staoueli camp and consolidating their lines against the French with a few cannons in the center of their positions. The attack was launched on June 19, and was repulsed after a few hours by the French who seized the Algerian artillery and the Staoueli camp, where they settled.
