Early Pleistocene
Red Crag Formation
, and it is rich in
fossils
of marine
molluscs
. It is described by
Natural England
as having great potential for the study of non-glacial
Pleistocene
environments
.
The site is in the
publicly
accessible
Bawdsey Beach.
