Bear Creek is a census-designated place in Merced County, California. It is located east of Merced, at an elevation of 190 feet. The population was 290 at the 2010 census.

History

A post office operated at Bear Creek from 1871 to 1872.

At the 2010 census Bear Creek had a population of 290. The population density was 5,060.9 people per square mile. The racial makeup of Bear Creek was 156 White, 4 African American, 2 Native American, 14 Asian, 0 Pacific Islander, 93 from other races, and 21 from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 170 people.
The whole population lived in households, no one lived in non-institutionalized group quarters and no one was institutionalized.
There were 82 households, 38 had children under the age of 18 living in them, 31 were opposite-sex married couples living together, 19 had a female householder with no husband present, 11 had a male householder with no wife present.
