Belarusian State Medical University


Belarusian State Medical University is a university in Minsk, Belarus. It specialises in Medicine and Dentistry. The University is the leading higher medical educational institution of the Republic of Belarus, which has a well-deserved international authority and recognition.

History

The beginning of its history dates back to 1921, when it was announced the opening of the Belarusian State University, which at that time included the medical faculty, which was separated in 1930 as an independent educational institution.
1925-the first graduation of doctors took place
In 1930, the Belarusian medical Institute was founded on the basis of the faculty.
During the second world war, from June 1941 to October 1943, the Institute did not function, and then its work resumed in the city of Yaroslavl.
In 1944, the Belarusian medical Institute returned to its former location in the city of Minsk.
1960-the faculty of dentistry was established.
In 1964, started teaching at the pediatric and sanitary-hygienic faculties
In 1967, the medical faculty of foreign students was opened.
by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR for its services in training, development of healthcare and medical science
In 1995, the military medical faculty was established as part of the institute.
In 2001, the Institute received the status of the leading medical University of the Republic of Belarus.
In September 2011, the faculty of pharmacy was opened.
