Bergen County Police Department
The Bergen County Police Department was a county police force responsible for providing police and security services to and on county property; it also assisted the 70 municipalities in Bergen County, New Jersey in police operations. Formed in 1917, the department was responsible for all county roads, highways, parks, etc. BCPD had many different units, such as a Bomb Team, Communications, Detective Bureau, Hostage Negotiators, Juvenile Bureau, K-9 Units, OEM, Patrol, SWAT Team, Traffic Safety, and WSAR. In 2015, it was merged with the Bergen County Sheriff's Office.
