Bernát Csányi (politician)


Bernát Csányi was a Hungarian politician and official from the old noble Csányi family, Vice-ispán of Zala.

Life

Bernát Csányi was born as the eldest son of Miklós Csányi and Lúcia Maráczy. His grandfather was Balázs Csányi. Bernát married Magdolna Kövér de Bagonya, they had two children: György and Imre.
He served as vice-ispán of Zala County from 4 December 1580 to 1 November 1581. Beside that he was also tax-collector of the county from 12 October 1580, along with Ferenc Szili de Isebor. Alongside Jób Kávási, Imre Pete de Hetés and Ambrus Pető de Gerse, he represented Zala County at the Diet of 1581 in Pressburg, between 1 November 1581 and 19 February 1582. From 8 June 1584 to 16 November 1586, he was appointed tax-collector again.
