Beverly D. Stakes

The Beverly D. Stakes is a Grade 1 flat horse race in the United States for thoroughbred fillies and mares aged three-years-old and upward. It is a Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" qualifier for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf.
The Beverly D. Stakes is the fillies' counterpart of the Arlington Million and is raced on the same day and on the same turf course at Arlington Park, Arlington Heights, Illinois in August. The race currently carries a purse of $600,000. The distance is miles, but was run at 1 1/16 miles in the first edition.
The race was first run in 1987, but was not run the following season due to refurbishment at Arlington Park. It became a Grade I race in 1991. It was also not run in 1998/99 as the track was closed during this time.
Seven Beverly D winners have gone on to be voted the American Champion Female Turf Horse: Flawlessly, Hatoof, Possibly Perfect, Golden Apples, Stacelita, Dank, and Sistercharlie.
In 2015, Secret Gesture crossed the wire first but was disqualified to third for interference.
