Bhikhari Thakur Bhikari Thakur was an Indian Bhojpuri poet, playwright, lyricist, actor, folk dancer, folk singer and social activist , popularly known as the "Shakespeare of Bhojpuri". He is often called Rai Bahadur . He published 29 books in his life including plays, poem etc . His most famous plays are Bidesiya and Gabarghichor , which is often compared with Bertolt Brecht’s The Caucasian Chalk Circle .Life Early Life Thakur was born in a Barber family on 18 December 1887 in Kutubpur village in Chhapra .Works Bhikhari Thakur wrote 29 Books in his career.
