Bidwells LLP is an independent property consultancy currently managing over £5.2 billion in property assets and employing 550 people in England and Scotland.
In addition to its Head Office in Cambridge, Bidwells have four other offices in England. These offices are based in Oxford, Milton Keynes, Norwich and London as well as four in Scotland, consisting of Aberdeen, Fort William, Inverness and Perth.
Bidwells helps investors, developers, occupiers, house builders and home owners to harness the benefits of the growth in these markets and represents over 44% of all real estate activity in the UK.
Established in 1839, Bidwells has retained many of its original clients, including some of the best-known colleges in Oxford and Cambridge who are among the biggest landowners in the UK.
In addition, Bidwells has a strong rural presence and manages thousands of square miles of the English and Scottish countryside and coastline. It is one of the leading consultancies in the high-growth forestry, renewable, and agriculture markets.

In January 2018, Bidwells' Cambridge headquarters re-opened officially after a refurbishment project to create Cambridge's first fully agile refurbished work space. The three-storey 21,000 sq ft building has no internal offices, other than meeting rooms, and no-one has their own permanent desk. Bidwells' Milton Keynes, Perth and Oxford offices have also been made agile.
Bidwells’ Bwell programme looks at the emotional and physical well-being of its staff, promoting the importance of well-being mindfulness courses, awareness activities on mental and physical health and other supporting initiatives.
Golden Triangle Focus
Over 80% of Bidwells’ work is concentrated in the ‘Golden Triangle’ of Oxford, Cambridge and London, including sector-leading work in the science & technology, and education sectors. Around 30% of Bidwells’ business is dedicated to advising the top two Universities in the world; Oxford and Cambridge.Science and Technology
Bidwells currently advises on over 10 million square feet of science related real estate. Science and Technology focussed clients include the owners of Cambridge Science Park, Cambridge Biomedical Campus and Harwell Campus. In December 2018, Bidwells hosted the first Cambridge to Oxford Corridor conference in partnership with EG.The Cambridge-Oxford economic corridor will see a new rail link between Oxford and Cambridge by 2024 and a new Expressway road by 2030.
Bidwells research found that the area already contributes £90 billion a year to the UK economy which could grow to £400 billion by 2050 with the area benefiting from up to five new towns and villages, one million new homes, 15-20 million sq ft of new office and lab space, and 30 - 40 million sq ft of industrial space.
Bidwells 180th Anniversary
In 2019, Bidwells is celebrating its 180th anniversary.It's running a firm-wide charity fundraising initiative: The Bidwells Grand Challenge. Each member of Bidwells is being asked to raise £180 for their chosen charities of the year – Maggie's Centres and Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance.
Bidwells Bike Ride
For the fourth year, Bidwells is running its annual Bike Ride, which raises money for Maggie's and have cyclists paddling from Oxford to Cambridge.On 5 September 2019, bike riders are tackling a 180 km course from Oxford to Cambridge.

- 2011 Milton Keynes Office moves to John Ormond House. Oxford Office opens. Sir Francis Pemberton dies at 95. Sir Francis had a huge influence on the early years of Bidwells including working with Trinity College on the creation of the Cambridge Science Park.
- 2013 Bidwells becomes a founding member of Cambridge Ahead a group of major Cambridge businesses and academics dedicated to the long-term future of the city.
- 2014 Bidwells celebrates its 175th anniversary by raising £175,000.
- 2015 Bidwells acted as adviser to the Wellcome Trust on its acquisition of the Co-operative Group's farm business for £249m - the biggest agri-investment deal in the UK to date and the largest global deal of its kind.
- 2015 Bidwells acquires the O2 Arena, world-renowned entertainment venue on behalf of Trinity College.
- 2016 Bidwells spin out business Creative Places wins the Estates Gazette Specialist Advisor of the Year Award.
- 2016 The Cambridge Business Space Agency team tops the EGi Market League Table for the tenth year in a row.
