The Big Church Day Out, also known as BCDO, is a Christian non-profit music festival that takes place in Wiston, West Sussex, England, best known for its contemporary Christian music. Many musical types are represented at the festival with the festival to appeal to all denominations of Christians. The main musical genres featured are Christian rock, contemporary worship music, gospel and Christian rap.
The festival was extended from one day to three days in 2010, with an additional day in the Midlands. That year, the number of attendees went up to 25,000 from 15,000 the year before. The next year, in 2011, the length of the festival was reduced to two days and the number attending decreased to 20,000. Since 2012 attendances have returned to in excess of 25,000 each year at the BCDO South festival in West Sussex.
The Big Church Day Out was created by Tim Jupp, a founding member of Delirious?. The leading Christian pop and rock artists have appeared as headline acts with others appearing on smaller stages.
The event was featured on BBC Songs of Praise on 30 June 2013.
In 2017 the event was rebranded Big Church Day Out South, with a second weekend held a week later at Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire as Big Church Day Out North. Similar line-ups appear at both festivals.

Lineups

Famous artists over the years have included rock bands such as YFriday, for KING & COUNTRY, Switchfoot, Casting Crowns, Newsboys, Delirious?, Jesus Culture, BOSH and Dance Like Kings.
Singer/songwriters that have appeared include Michael W Smith, Phil Wickham, Amy Grant, Natalie Evans, Stuart Townend, Yazz and Matt Maher.
Worship leaders and bands that have appeared include Matt Redman, Hillsong United, Worship Central, Bethel Music, Rend Collective and Planet Shakers.
RnB/ Hip-hop artists have included Toby Mac, Israel Houghton, LZ7, Lecrae and Gungor.
Gospel singer Israel Houghton has performed the most times, in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015.
